Technical informationRegistration: You can apply to take part in the 2009 Weimar Summer School immediately. Please use the online registration form on the homepage or send us an e-mail with your name, address and the course you wish to take part in. You will receive preliminary confirmation of reservation together with our bank details and payment deadline for the course fees. Your participation is guaranteed only once the course fees have been paid in full. If we do not receive payment by the deadline given, we will cancel your preliminary reservation and offer the place to other applicants – there is no cost to yourself. The total course fees are 750 Euro and include costs for accommodation in a double room, board and participation in the course programmes and excursions. (250 Euro course fee, 280 Euro accommodation fee, 220 Euro for board). The participant’s card allows free entry to Weimar’s museums, the art collection, libraries and archives. Accommodation in a single room is also possible at a surcharge of 150 Euro. For students and participants who do not earn any income of their own, the course fee may be waived if appropriate proof is provided (the participant’s contribution is then 500 Euro). In the case of particular financial hardship a limited number of full scholarships are available providing full support for the total fee (the participant need not contribute). If you wish to apply for a scholarship please send the following information to the head of the Europäische Jugendbildungs- und Begegnungsstätte Weimar Ulli Ballhausen, (ballhausen[at]ejbweimar.de):
Applications (1 – 3 pages) will be considered in mid June 2009 and notification will be sent shortly thereafter. Please note: A scholarship can only be granted if participation is not possible due to the personal financial situation and also no other funds are available. The closing date for scholarship applications is 30th April 2009. All other applications will be considered on a first-come first-served basis until all places are taken. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 15 per course. The seminars (9-12 a.m. & 2-5 p.m.) comprise lectures, excursions and contributions of participants. The seminar language is English. Accommodation will be in modern twin rooms in the European Youth Education and Community Centre Weimar (EJBW) in the centre of Weimar close to the Ilm Park.
